Year One

Integrated Project 2:
“The Outdoor Dining X'perience”- The Mamanda Experience

Green Conservation – THE TREE

The concept was inspired by trees. When people think of trees, they envision it to be a big and sturdy structure which provides protection from sunlight and wind. As the tree ages, its roots continues to spread itself and supports the whole structure. Therefore, the roots is the most important part of the tree as the history of the tree can be seen in it.

Likewise, Mamanda has deeps roots as well. Its rich history can be seen in the architecture of the building which has been carefully preserved over the years. Additionally, trees provides a home for birds and insects therefore, I hope to design the outdoor dining in Mamanda that would make users feel protected, at ease and close to nature.

Planters are placed against the wall  and it is also used to divide between dining area 1 and 2. Diners would be able to appreciate the soft scape as they dine. The Plumeria rubra would also provide shade from sunlight

Diners who are dining in the shelter will be still be to look at the soft scape. The planter and the edge of the timber deck directs users into the herb garden.
