Pedestrianising Orchard Road
Central Entertainment Hub
The zone that I chose from the group project was Entertainment Zone. It is located from Ngee Ann City to Mandarin Gallery. The theme that I was assigned for the project is 24/7. The aim for this project is to encourage social interaction between users to increase community spirit and forge bonds.
There are three main objectives; to incorporate various activities that are round the clock to engage users of all ages. Such as providing a cycling track and water play area. Create a relaxing and comfortable environment for users to communicate and be closer to nature. Create a sustainable and educational landscape for users. Through implementing ABC water features and usage of native plants.
Analysis
The pond acts as a main feature in the space which allow users to seat along the edge to interact with each other and also increases the bio-diversity and educational.
This area is catered to street performers, the timer platform serves as a stage and also as seating areas when there are no performance. The elevated seating structure allows users to relax which enjoying the performance.
The building is designed with green wall, water wall and glass are used as the building facade to make it more unique and interesting so that it would stand out.
